World Of Tanks Jagpz IV Mug

Hello there fellow tankers.I always stand by the notion that there are no bad tanks but just tanks that do not fit your playing style. This tank seems to get a lot of stick from TD players, especially those who have already played other tier 6 TD. In this little post, I just want to highlight some good points about the JagdPz IV.ArmourThe JagdPz IV have the second best armour for the tier 6 TD, best only by the M36 Slugger. With 80mm sloped armour, it can bounce tier 4 cannons at close distance, tier 5 cannons at medium distance and most tier 6 cannons at long distance. Though the M36 Slugger has better armour, it has an open top and that offer no protection against HE. Another advantage is that the JagdPz IV is a close tank, which mean it can insall the equipemnt ventilation for 5% extra skills.CannonYes it has the lowest penetration (132mm) but it actually has the best ROF. My JagdPz IV with ventilation and rammer get a 4.5 sec reload time. Aiming time at 1.7 sec and dispersation 0.35, this cannon can rip any tier 6 tanks apart, hurt a lot of tier 7 tanks but will struggle with tier 8. Even when facing a SU-100 (consider by many as the best tier TD), JagdPz IV can fire 3 rounds in exchange for 1 hit. 3 rounds from JagdPz IV is more than enough to destory a SU-100.SpeedLots of people actually compare speed in a TD. This confuses me alot. Why do you even want speed in a tank design to ambush? This tank is design to find a nice ambush spot and destory your victim without getting any responds. There is not need for excellent top speed. As a matter of fact, 38km/h is a nice speed cause I often arrive after the first engagement and start shooting at tanks busy engaging with my heavy tanks.CamouflageI cannot find the actual value but seen the actual value it in the forum somewhere. This TD has got the best camouflage value. I actually once had a T-43 drove pass me at 150m without spotting me. No replay,In that encounter but I waited till the T-43 actually drove passed me before I fired my first shot. By the time the T-43 turn around, actually spotted me, aim and fire a shot, I had already destroyed it.ConclusionThe JagdPz IV will be a diffcult tank if you lack map knowledge (where you can ambush), lack patience (if you always rush to be first in), lack discipline (trigger happy) and poor knowledge of your enemies (not knowing where to shot). When you actually master the mechanics of this game, this TD will be as deadly as any other tier 6 TD.

Jagdpanzer IV, Sd.Kfz. 162, was a German tank destroyer based on the Panzer IV chassis and built in three main variants. As one of the casemate-style turretless Jagdpanzer (tank destroyer, literally "hunting tank") designs, it was developed against the wishes of Heinz Guderian, the inspector general of the Panzertruppen, as a replacement for the Sturmgeschütz III (StuG III). Guderian objected against the needless, in his eyes, diversion of resources from Panzer IV tank production, as the Sturmgeschütz III was still more than adequate for its role. After the Battle of Stalingrad, in September 1942 the Wehrmacht's arms bureau, the Waffenamt, called for a new standard for assault weapons: 100 mm of armor to the front, 40–50 mm on the sides, wider tracks, ground clearance of 50 cm, top speed of 26 km/h and the lowest possible firing positions. The new Panzerjäger ("tank hunter") design would be armed with the same 7.5 cm gun as fitted to the Panther: the Pak 42 L/70. Initially a new chassis was planned, but that of the Panzer IV had to be used.

Previous efforts to mount bigger guns on smaller chassis resulted in the Marder series as well as StuG IIIs. The Marder series were tall and had open crew compartments. The new design had a low silhouette and completely enclosed, casemate fighting compartment.
The Jagdpanzer IV used Panzer IV chassis 7 (known as BW7), but the almost-vertical front hull plate was replaced by sloped armor plates. Internally, the layout was changed to accommodate the new superstructure, moving the fuel tanks and ammunition racks. Since the Jagdpanzer lacked a turret, the engine which originally powered the Panzer IV's turret could be eliminated.
The new superstructure had 80 mm thick sloped armour, which gives a much greater armor protection than a vertical armor of 100 mm. To make the manufacturing process as simple as possible, the superstructure was made out of large, interlocking plates that were welded together.First off it's widely considered the worst tank in the game by every poll ever made, and if you run it how I did you will struggle a great deal as I did. Like most players I kept the StuG III. This only adds to the JagdPZ IVs difficulties as those who DO chose not to skip this tank, non premmies who need to farm everything etc. just cut out one of the most important necesities for this tank, a 100% crew. What you need to consider is that this tank has very difficult penetration numbers and is generally a tank novices would want to avoid, in fact due to the stigma pretty much everyone wants to avoid it and gives it no chance. A counter to the difficult pen is its accuracy. When a shell flies out of the barrel the more straight it flies out the more direct it hits the enemy armor, this is extremely important for the JagdPz IV. Again the gun itself is extremely accurate but due to low pen you also need a skilled crew, it is the key factor in this tank to get that little extra neccisary trajectory correction.Options and recommendations when buying: Buy a 100% crew, if you're in a StuG III play it extra to 100%+ without getting secondary skills so when you retrain it will maintain 100% crew skill, if you plan on keeping the StuG III buy a new 75% crew for the StuG III not the JagdPz IV. This is actually really important and a 75% crew will quickly become adequate for the StuG III around 80%, it will NOT be adequate for the JagdPz IV. As a side note it uses the same crewmen.
